Welcome to McTier Import Repair
Local to the Inland Empire / Los Angeles County / Orange County, in business since 1988.
McTier Import Repair is located in Montclair, California, between the I-10 and I-210 freeways. We are just east of the Los Angeles metropolitan area in the west side of the Inland Empire. We specialize in Japanese, German, and Korean vehicles but are also your best option for General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler.
Paul McTier has over 50 years experience, 40 years in the Inland Empire, with technician certifications from major manufacturers. Diagnostics are accurate the first time. We can offer any of our customers as a reference. Our typical customer is probably like you, a professional who must have reliable transportation and is dissatisfied with the competence and/or cost of dealership repairs. Our hours of operation are second shift 2 PM to 10 PM and we turn around most of our repairs the same evening or by the next morning. When you drop your car off after work, we can usually diagnose the problem on the spot and confirm to you that repairs will be completed in time for your commute the next morning.
Meet Mini Zoomie
If you dropped into the shop in August 2023, you may have seen a newborn kitten on Paul's desk. She is doing well and now has a name, Mini Zoomie or just Mini for short.
Brake System Service and Repair
The stopping force of your brakes is 10 times as powerful as the force that puts the car in motion. Brake pads, shoes, drums and rotors wear down even under normal driving conditions. Pay attention if your brake warning light is on and listen for squeaking, clunking, or grinding. Other warning signs of failing brakes:
- Your vehicle pulls to one side
- Your brakes pulse when you step on the brake pedal
- The distance required to stop your car is increasing
Inland Empire and Orange County residents rely on McTier Import Repair as their brake specialist. We use only very high quality brake pads and parts, in some cases only OEM parts that are far superior to any aftermarket brand. But there is much more to a thorough brake job than just replacing brake pads or shoes.
Nissan and Infiniti Door Detent Mechanism
Nissan and Infiniti door detent mechanisms (a.k.a. door check straps) are poorly designed. The doors like to close on your legs when you're trying to get in and out of the car. A new part is $80.00 and must be purchased from the dealer. I have devised a modification or fix for the problem.
